A Week Long Celebration of our Community Sport Heroes - March 1 - 5, 2021

The City of Kelowna and PacificSport Okanagan are pleased to recognize and honour athletes, volunteers / coaches, and sport organizations for their outstanding contributions to sport in our community. This year will feature a new focus for the 2021 Community Sport Hero Awards. Sport looked different in 2020 – athletes, coaches and volunteers, and sport organizations had to adapt and do things differently in these challenging times.

And so, in keeping with the challenges of 2020, we are recognizing Community Sport Heroes who were outstanding in these extraordinary times. This is your chance to nominate that special athlete, volunteer, sport leader or sport organization who had an outstanding achievement or made an invaluable contribution to the sport community in 2020. Perhaps they turned their efforts to helping others? Maybe they tried something new and innovative due to restrictions in the training and competition pathway? Or perhaps they took extraordinary steps to keep our communities safe and connected?  Whatever the case, this is an opportunity for you to recognize those who went “above & beyond” in 2020.

Awards will be featured virtually in a week-long celebration of sport from March 1-5, 2021.
