PacificSport Okanagan is pleased to announce a partnership with Power 104, Q103.1 and Kids Care. This partnership will allow PacificSport Okanagan to offer Physical Literacy-based XploreSportZ Programs to primary and elementary school-aged children and youth in the Central Okanagan in an effort to enhance overall physical literacy in the community.
Physical Literacy provides children with the tools and confidence they need to take part in physical activity and sport, both for healthy life-long enjoyment and for sporting success. PacificSport Okanagan’s XploreSportZ Programs are offered in partnership with municipalities and local sport organizations. This inclusive project is very low-cost, helping to eliminate financial barriers that prevent children from experiencing the healthy benefits of physical activity and sport.
Thank you Power 104, Q103.1 and Kids Care for supporting Physical Literacy in the community!
How can parents help Physical Literacy?
This summer, encourage your kids to explore the sports and activities our region has to offer. Get outside for a pick up game with the kids on your street, venture into a provincial park for a nature hike or sign up for multiple camps. Whatever it is, remember positive encouragement and role modeling from parents is the greatest motivator in keeping kids involved in sport.
